How much does Databrain cost?

Databrain costs $999 a month on the Growth plan, $1,995 a month on Pro, and a custom price on Enterprise. Growth includes one data source; Pro adds unlimited data sources, SSO, and roles and permissions; Enterprise adds self-hosting, VPC peering and a dedicated account manager. Every plan includes unlimited seats, embeds and tenants, so the price does not change as you add customers.

How much does embedded analytics cost?

Embedded analytics cost depends mostly on the billing unit. Vendors charge per user, per monthly active user, per tenant, per unit of compute capacity, or a flat platform fee, so two tools with similar features can produce very different bills as your customer base grows. Is flat pricing better than per-user pricing for embedded analytics?

For customer-facing analytics, flat pricing is usually more predictable, because per-user and usage-based bills rise every time your customers add viewers or open dashboards more often. Per-user pricing can cost less for a small, fixed audience such as an internal team. Databrain prices on the modules you use, not on seats, monthly active users, query volume or capacity, so a plan costs the same whether you serve 10 customers or 10,000.

Does Databrain charge usage, query or overage fees?

Databrain charges no usage, query or overage fees: dashboard views, queries, embeds and tenants are not metered on any plan. Two costs can sit outside the Databrain bill. Queries run live against your own warehouse, so your warehouse provider bills that compute. If you connect your own LLM provider key for AI questions, model usage is billed by that provider. Caching on Pro and Enterprise cuts repeat warehouse queries.

Does Databrain have a free trial?

Databrain offers a 14-day free trial on every plan, and signing up asks only for a work email, not a credit card. Pro and Enterprise trials include a proof of concept built on your own dataset, so you evaluate Databrain against your real warehouse rather than sample data. The Growth plan is billed monthly once the trial ends.

Which Databrain plan do I need?

Choose Databrain Growth if you are launching your first customer-facing dashboards from one data source; it is the plan that replaces Metabase, Superset or Preset. Choose Pro when you need unlimited data sources, SSO, and roles and permissions; it is positioned as the Looker replacement. Choose Enterprise for self-hosting in your own cloud or on-premises, SAML SSO, VPC peering and a bastion host, or a dedicated account manager.

What data sources does each Databrain plan include?

Databrain Growth connects one data source, while Pro and Enterprise connect unlimited sources at no extra cost. Supported sources include Snowflake, BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Databricks, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Fabric, Amazon Athena, Trino, Firebolt, SingleStore, MongoDB and Elasticsearch. Databrain queries each source live instead of replicating your warehouse into a separate store.

What counts as an embed in Databrain pricing?

An embed is any Databrain dashboard or single metric that you render inside your own product for your customers, using the dbn-dashboard or dbn-metric web component. Embeds are unlimited on every plan, and so are seats and tenants, so you can add analytics to as many pages and put it in front of as many customers as you need without moving to a bigger plan.
